English Soprano Sarah Minns started her operatic career at 18 years old playing the role of Verity in the world premiere of 'Jago' by Mike Westbrook (broadcast on BBC Radio3, 2000). She then enrolled in training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, completing an honours degree in music and then the Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal and Opera Studies (where she was awarded distinction for performance).

During her time in Wales Sarah won a scholarship to sing with the BBC National Chorus, and also the Welsh National Youth Opera. Sarah participated in many high profile projects included broadcasting, recording and stage contracts, ranging from singing at the First night of the proms (Ivan the Terrible, Prokofiev, 2003) to a Chandos recording of Vaughan Williams' The Poisoned Kiss conducted by Richard Hickox.

Roles for the stage included Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring) Britten, Dido (Dido & Aneas) Purcell, Frasquita (Carmen) Bizet, Gretal (Hansel and Gretal) Humperdinck & Fox (The Cunning little Vixen (Janáček).

Sarah later won a place at the Royal Academy of Music where she completed the preparatory opera course under the guidance of Janet Price and Audery Highland. Roles performed during her time at the Royal Academy include Carolina (Matrimonio Segreto), Cimarosa, and Karolina (The Two Widows) Smetana.

Recent masterclass tuition includes Robert Tear, Diana Falano, Ryland Davies and Malcolm Martinue.

Sarah was awarded the Peter Morris scholarship for Sopranos, Aueurin Davis Memorial Prize, Dolan Evans Memorial Award, Redman Interpretation Prize and Margaret Tann Williams Award.

After playing the role of Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana) Mascagni, for Wedmore Opera, July 2007, Sarah is please to announce that she will be returning in July 2008 to play the Role of Musetta in Puccini's La Boheme.

Sarah is an avid busker on the London underground and was a recent finalist in the 'Ear To The Underground' competition run in conjunction with Capital Radio and the London Paper.
