English Soprano Sarah Minns started her operatic career at 18 years old playing the role of Verity in the world premiere of 'Jago' by Mike Westbrook (broadcast on BBC Radio3, 2000). Sarah began her training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, completing an honours degree in music, and then the Postgraduate Diploma in Vocal and Opera Studies (where she was awarded distinction for performance).

During her time in Wales Sarah won a scholarship to sing with the BBC National Chorus, and also the Welsh National Youth Opera. Sarah participated in many high profile projects included broadcasting, recording, and stage contracts. Highlights include singing at the First night of the proms, and a Chandos recording of Vaughan Williams' The Poisoned Kiss conducted by Richard Hickox.

Sarah later won a place at the Royal Academy of Music where she completed the Preparatory Opera Course under the guidance of Janet Price and Audrey Highland. Roles performed during her time at the Royal Academy include Carolina (Matrimonio Segreto), Cimarosa, and Karolina (The Two Widows) Smetana.

Sarah was awarded the Peter Morris scholarship for Sopranos, Aueurin Davis Memorial Prize, Dolan Evans Memorial Award, Redman Interpretation Prize and Margaret Tann Williams Award.

Operatic roles include: Bianca/Gabriella – La Rondine (Opera Holland Park), Sprite – Fantastic Mr Fox (Opera Holland Park), Kate Pinkerton – Madam Butterfly (Opera Up Close), Musetta – La bohčme (Wedmore Opera). Other roles include: Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring), Frasquita (Carmen), Gretal (Hansel and Gretal) & Fox (The Cunning Little Vixen (Janácek).

Forthcoming engagements include the title role of Eleanor Vale in a premiére by John Barber for Wedmore Opera, and a season with Grange Park Opera.

Recently masterclasses include studying at the Julliard School, New York, with Dr. Robert White Jr.
